What you need to know about the new energy tax credits and what your local utilities can do for you.

Federal Energy Tax Credits

The tax credit legislation for $1500 tax credits, that were 30% up to $1,500, expired on December 31, 2010. New tax credits were passed, but are now at lower levels. You can qualify for a $200 tax credit for installing new windows and doors and several other items.

TVA Energy Right Program

On the local front, TVA is offering in-home energy evaluations. If you perform the recommended upgrades, you could qualify for up to $500 and/or special financing for certain products. Hullco Exteriors offers replacement windows, doors, and storm windows that qualify for $500 from the Energy Right program.
